Guatemala, 1554 - VR (2019)

We were fortunate enough to work with Missouri State University and Anáhuac Mayab University on a faithful recreation of Antigua Guatemala during the Inquisition, using Unreal Engine 4.21 for an International exposition.

The Virtual Reality recreation was well-received by the expo attendees, and showcased in multiple articles (1, 2) as well as magazines (German Magazine Mexicon Vol. 41.5, October 2019 issue).

With a museum-like approach, we developed a faithful recreation of Antigua Guatemala during the Inquisition, based on a true historical event which took place in March 27th, 1554. The team developed a rich environment with dynamic weather and multiple interactive objects as well as characters in the short span of five weeks. Attendees could walk around the virtually recreated Plaza and read curious facts as well as descriptions of various items. Aimed towards people of all ages, proved to be a massive success.
